Only Thank God

Taking Things Higher Than 12 Steps 24/7

This is a online christian support group for anyone looking to offer and receive counseling and support both spiritually and mentally. Some of the most important things needed to be a member here is your willingness to be truthful with yourself (by acknowledging the times when you need help and seeking it) another thing is to have a understanding that you do not have to be a SUPER CHRISTIAN to help or encourage someone else. Being perfect is NOT a requirement for this site, however trying to better yourself and offering support to one another is. Only Thank God is a christian support group and my question for you is " Are you down with OTG" you know me:). May God continue to bless and keep you and as you go through your day today do not allow yourself to get hung up on the mistakes of your past. Know that this is a new day that the Lord has made and in it you should rejoice for the fact that you have another chance to make your future brighter than your past.

GOD IS STILL IN THE BLESSING BUSINESS AND MY PRAYER IS THAT HE CONTINUES TO DO BUSINESS WITH YOU.

A christian support group aimed at helping people that have or may still be dealing with addictions develop a better relationship with God

Welcome to Only Thank God

A christian based network of people supporting each other through prayer, encouragement, and understanding. My name is Alphonso Rodgers and God has delivered me from drugs and alcohol and as a testimony to my Lord and Savior I've started this website. "Addicts suffer from a disease for which there's no cure" is a lie the devil has convinced people to keep telling themselves was true. The bible tells us that God sent his son to die for us and that no weapon formed against his children shall prosper. As God's children we also have power in our words so if we continue to tell ourselves that we are addicts then we continue to give power to the addiction instead of taking power over it in the name of Jesus. I encourage anyone who has dealt with or may be still dealing with drugs and alcohol to become a member (whether it's you or a loved one). I also like to encourage you to read a testimony of mine in my blog post "God Works In Mysterious Ways" so that you can learn a little about my struggles with addictions and how God brought me through them. Everyone goes through hard times, some more than others due to the choices we make. No matter what you've done or how far you may be down God still loves you and can bring you up and out of any situation. I invite you to share some of what you've been through and how God brought you out. Do this with the understanding that there's power in your words. What you say may not help everyone but it just might save someone. So whether you want someone to talk to, have a prayer request, or just want to testify your welcomed to ONLY THANK GOD.

OTG Taking things higher than 12 steps 24/7

For anyone dealing with addictions it is important that you acknowledge your issues, seek God, and continue to pray while seeking treatment and support of other positive influences. Following a 12 step program is important but it is even more important to get into the routine of putting God first. Make no mistake after being of the world for so long it will take time and effort on your part, but as time goes on you will find the more you put God first the easier your life will become. Put God first, then the 12 steps

The first commandment is: Thou shalt have no other gods before me. ( To my understanding this simply means put nothing above God, not your spouse, child, job, home or any other thing of the world. It is also important to understand that every challenge that you face will not be easy but the good news is that through CHRIST ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.)
The 12 steps (Important but not as important as the first commandment)
Step 1: We admitted that we were powerless over our addiction, that our lives had become unmanagable.
Step 2: We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
Step 3: We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of our God as we understood Him.
Step 4: We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
Step 5: We admitted to God, ourselves, and to another human being the nature of our wrong doings.
Step 6: We were entirely ready for God to remove all these defects of character.
Step 7: We humbly ask God to remove our shortcomings.
Step 8: We made a list of people we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them.
Step 9: We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would hurt them or others.
Step 10: We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
Step 11: We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will and the power to carry that out.
Step 12: Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to addicts, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

My name is Alphonso Rodgers and this site is my way of following the first commandments and the 12 steps. God bless you.

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? (Matthew 7:11)

Rejoice, O believer! Rejoice in the unaccountably vast treasure of mercy the Lord showers upon His bride! He is the King of All and is faithful to reward His children. He has given you a throne! A robe of righteousness! A crown of victorious glory! Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places is yours by the…

Now therefore,

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth [is] mine: (Exodus 19:5)

Once we have placed our faith in Christ, we are exhorted to follow His commands and allow Him to rule in our lives. From that moment, we are considered God's own possession and treasure. There is tremendous hope and peace in the promise to be called "a particular treasure" for the Almighty King who is lacking in…

Denying Self

"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself

and take up his cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23).

Jesus left heaven and humbly denied Himself all things to become God's greatest servant. In Luke 9:23, He said, "If…
